Aokigahara 青木ヶ原 - The Suicide Forest

"Also known as Jukai 樹海 (the sea of trees), this forest at the base of Mount Fuji has an historical reputation as yūrei's home: ghosts of people who died in a violent way. This is the second most popular site in the world for suicides, after the San Francisco Bridge. According to some reports, forest workers must carry the bodies from the forest to the local police station, where they are put in a special room used specifically as house for suicide corpses. Some people believe that if a corpse is left alone, it is very bad luck for the yūrei and for the person that find it."
